Thicker materials tend to create an open bite with extended wear. When viewed in the laboratory the plastic is opaque. However, it becomes see through when introduced in the mouth (saliva). Acrylic will not adhere for bonding purposes.

Instructions: 1) Trim the models in a horseshoe such that the palatal or lingual area is open. 2) Heat the polypropylene until the center section becomes clear. 3) Don't allow the plastic to droop below the clamping frame. 4) Make sure the plastic fully adapts to the model. 5) Wait until the plastic fully cools before removing.
