ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS: "Parker Hand Beading Tool Set No.416 1. Select frame having outside rollers for size of tube to be beaded. 2. (For Size 4) Slide inside tool into position in frame. (For Sizes 6-8-10-12-16) Slide bushing into frame; then select proper size inside roller and insert in bushing. 3. Pull down release button when roll is inserted and then allow holding pin to pass thru hole in bushing and into groove or hole in inside tool. 4. Lubricate inside and outside of tube with medium oil for 1/2" from end. Remove excess oil. 5. Clamp the tube between the rubber blocks in the tube clamp assembly a few inches from the end of the tube. 6. slide tube over inside roller until it touches face of bushing. 7. Holding the tube holder in the left hand, turn the beading assembly counterclockwise with the right hand, adjusting the screw downward slightly while revolving, until the proper bead diameter is reached. 8 If may similar beads are to be made, lock the stop nuts on the adjusting screw when the correct diameter of bead is reached. SUGGESTIONS FOR BETTER BEADING First be sure the tube end is cut off squarely and all burrs removed. The rubber blocks of the holder, and the tube at the place where the holder will grip, should be clean and free from oil or grease film. Be sure to use the proper size inner and outer rolls for the tube being beaded. Place tube holder as close as possible to beader, allowing only sufficient working clearance between tools. Start the bead slowly. Revolve the beader several times on the tube applying little pressure in order to form a light groove or track to guide the grooving rolls. This will prevent the tool working off the tube as the bead is formed. Form the bead slowly, or the tube may be distorted. Best results are obtained by a fairly rapid turning of the beading tool, with a very gradual tightening down of the grooving rolls. The slight flare raised on the end of the tube when beading size 4 should be removed with a fine tooth file. Use the locknuts on the beader handle screw when a number of similar beads are to be made. Set the locknuts against the frame at the completion of a bead. The nuts will then stop further beading action at the proper place. If the tube end is out of round, bring it back to shape by adjusting the proper size beading tool so the inside roll just touches the low spots when the tool is revolved. Grasp the tool by the frame, tighten rollers slightly and iron out low spots. CAUTION- Do not attempt to bead steel tubing, size 4.
